Bill Maher, host of "Real Time," recently shared his thoughts on the trial of Sean "Diddy" Combs, who is facing federal charges, including sex trafficking. Maher seemed to place blame on Combs’ ex-girlfriend, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, for the abuse she allegedly endured at his hands.

Maher emphasized the need to hold two thoughts simultaneously, stating, "One, Diddy is a bad dude — really bad. Like, the worst thing in rap since Hammer pants. A violent, sick f*** … and we should lock him up and throw away the baby oil."

He also highlighted the importance of leaving toxic relationships immediately if one is being abused. Maher acknowledged the challenges victims faced in the past but urged that in today’s era, it is essential to speak out and take action promptly.

The comedian pointed out that prior to the #MeToo movement, victims had limited options to address abuse, but now, there is a societal expectation for swift action. Maher suggested that victims who delay reporting their experiences may contribute to public skepticism.

Ventura, who dated Combs before the rise of the #MeToo movement, accused him of physical and sexual abuse starting in 2023. Maher stressed the importance of women having the agency to exit harmful relationships and not remaining silent about abuse.

Maher’s comments sparked debate, with some arguing that victims of domestic violence often face barriers to speaking out due to fear of reprisal. Despite understanding these challenges, Maher emphasized the necessity of immediate action in cases of abuse.

Ventura testified in court about enduring violent arguments and physical abuse at the hands of Combs, shedding light on the alleged mistreatment she faced during their relationship.

Representatives for Maher did not respond immediately to requests for comment on his remarks.
