Bill Maher Opens Up About Hollywood Snubs
Actor Edgerton, aged 51, recently received a nomination for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama at the Golden Globes for his performance in the film Train Dreams. Despite not winning, Edgerton expressed his gratitude for the recognition.
During a conversation with talk show host Bill Maher, Edgerton shared his humble perspective on the nomination. “How do you feel? Let me ask you, how do you feel going in?” Maher inquired. Edgerton responded, “I’ve always set my ceiling quite low in life. Like, being nominated to me is a win.”
Maher, known for his outspoken nature, revealed his own experiences with award snubs. “Sweetheart, I’ve been nominated for 33 Emmys, and they would never give it to me. That’s not a gag number. It’s a real number,” Maher disclosed, highlighting the numerous times he has been overlooked for his work.
Reflecting on the reasons behind the snubs, Maher didn’t hold back. “It’s crazy, right? For Politically Incorrect, for Real Time, for my stand-up specials, for producing, for writing, for performance. Obviously, it’s something I said. Well, it’s everything I said, because I speak freely, and this woke town f—– hates that,” Maher candidly remarked about the challenges he has faced in Hollywood.
