A Tragic Incident at Main Event in Highlands Ranch

Authorities in Douglas County are investigating a series of connected shootings that occurred at Main Event in Highlands Ranch late Saturday night. One man was killed in the parking lot, while a woman was injured inside the arcade.

Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly described the scene as chaotic, with multiple shots fired inside the crowded arcade just before midnight. Despite the quick response of a deputy, the armed man in the parking lot refused to drop his weapon and was fatally shot.

The injured woman, who was shot in the chest by another woman, is expected to survive. The suspected shooter has been taken into custody.

Investigators are still working to determine the connection between the man, the two women, and the shootings at Main Event.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Douglas County investigators at 303-660-7500.

The investigation into the parking lot shooting will be handled by the 23rd Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team.
