Devin Harjes, a talented actor known for his roles in popular series such as Boardwalk Empire, Daredevil, and Gotham, has sadly passed away at the age of 41. He lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, May 27, at Mount Sinai West Hospital in New York City, just three months after being diagnosed.
Devin is survived by his parents, Randy and Rosanne Harjes, his sister Trish Harjes, and two nieces, as well as his former wife, Shiva Shobitha, and extended family members. His obituary describes him as a dedicated son, brother, and uncle, deeply mourned by his loved ones.
Originally from Lubbock, Texas, Devin developed a passion for acting at a young age. He began his journey in the entertainment industry by studying theater in college and making his debut on the off-Broadway stage. In 2011, he made a memorable television debut as the legendary boxer Jack Dempsey in two episodes of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire.
Throughout his career, Devin appeared in a variety of popular TV shows, including Blue Bloods, Orange Is the New Black, Elementary, and FBI. He also took on roles in films such as Surprise Surprise, Mr. Conovy, Rebel in the Reye, Boyz of Summer, and The Forest Is Red.
Devin’s exceptional performance in Boyz of Summer earned him an Honorable Mention for Best Supporting Actor at the Long Island International Film Expo. He also received the title of Best Actor at the Tolentino International Film Festival in Italy for his role in The Forest Is Red.
Most recently, Devin portrayed Pete Baylor in the NBC drama series Manifest. His colleagues and friends have shared their sorrow and admiration for his talent and dedication on social media.
