The bodies of two young girls were tragically discovered stuffed in suitcases in an Ohio park on Monday after a dog-walker made a horrifying find. The girls, described only as “juvenile black females,” are believed to be victims of homicide, according to Cleveland authorities.
Cleveland Police Chief Dorothy Todd stated that the girls’ identities are still unknown, but they are estimated to be between the ages of 8-and-a-half to 13 and 10-and-a-half to 14. There are currently no reports of missing children in the area that match the description of the remains.
Despite the grim discovery, authorities have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to public safety. It remains unclear if the girls were related to each other. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death for the girls.
The discovery was made by a local man named Phillip Donaldson, who was walking his dog near Saranac Playground when his dog stopped to sniff around a mound of dirt. Upon investigating further, Donaldson found a partially buried suitcase with a head inside. He immediately contacted the authorities, leading to the uncovering of the girls’ bodies.
The investigation into this heartbreaking case is ongoing, with authorities working diligently to identify the girls and bring justice for them. The community is shocked and saddened by this tragic event, and hopes for answers and closure for the victims and their families.
