Netflix’s New Animated Series “Long Story Short” Announces Voice Cast

“Long Story Short,” the upcoming animated series from Raphael Bob-Waksberg, the creator of the popular show “BoJack Horseman,” has just announced its star-studded voice cast. Lisa Edelstein, Paul Reiser, Ben Feldman, Abbi Jacobson, Max Greenfield, Angelique Cabral, and Nicole Byer will all lend their voices to the characters in the show, with Dave Franco and Michaela Dietz set to appear as recurring guest stars. Netflix has also revealed that the comedy series is set to premiere on August 22.

“Long Story Short” was first announced in August 2024. The official description of the show teases an engaging storyline, stating that it follows the Schwooper siblings from childhood to adulthood and back again, capturing their triumphs, disappointments, joys, and compromises over the years.

Raphael Bob-Waksberg, the mastermind behind the series, serves as the writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Noel Bright and Steven A. Cohen are also on board as executive producers for Tornante Television. Lisa Hanawalt will act as the supervising producer and create original art for the show, while Corey Campodonico and Alex Bulkley will be co-executive producers for the animation studio ShadowMachine, which will handle production in their Los Angeles studio.

Following the success of “BoJack Horseman,” Bob-Waksberg has been busy with other projects. He co-created the Amazon animated series “Undone” and worked as a writer and executive producer on “Tuca & Bertie,” another animated series produced by Tornante and ShadowMachine. “BoJack Horseman,” Netflix’s first original adult animated series, received critical acclaim and developed a loyal fan base during its six-season run. The show even earned two Emmy nominations for outstanding animated program.
