She was 79 years old.

In her final Instagram post from April, she appeared to be in good health.

Keaton achieved stardom in the 1970s, captivating audiences in “The Godfather” trilogy and through notable collaborations with director Woody Allen. Her portrayal in 1977’s “Annie Hall” earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress. Over the years, she starred in a multitude of films, including “The First Wives Club,” several projects with director Nancy Meyers, and the “Book Club” franchise.

A native of Los Angeles, she was born Diane Hall in 1946, the eldest of four siblings. Her father was a civil engineer, while her mother devoted her time to homemaking.
