Brie Larson is set to star opposite Olivia Colman in the limited series “Cry Wolf,” which has officially been greenlit at FX. The show, first reported in February with Colman attached, will see Larson and Colman in lead roles, with Sarah Treem serving as writer, executive producer, and showrunner.
Described as a psychological family thriller, “Cry Wolf” follows a social worker (Colman) and a mother (Larson) thrust into crisis when the mother’s teenage daughter alleges abuse, pushing both women to their limits as they navigate an impossible situation.
The series is inspired by the Danish TV series “Ulven Kommer” created by Maja Jul Larsen. Treem, Colman, and Larson are all executive producers on the project, along with others involved in bringing the show to FX.
Colman, a highly-celebrated actress, has appeared in multiple FX projects, including “The Bear” and “Great Expectations.” She is a six-time Emmy nominee and a three-time Academy Award nominee, with one win for best actress in “The Favourite.” Larson, known for her roles in “Room” and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has also found success in television with projects like “United States of Tara” and “Lessons in Chemistry.”
Treem, the show’s creator, is best known for her work on “The Affair” and has a background in television and playwriting. The talented trio of Larson, Colman, and Treem promises to deliver a gripping and emotional series that will captivate audiences.
