In a dramatic turn of events late Sunday night and extending into Monday morning, President Trump urged for the deployment of troops to quell the escalating violence in downtown Los Angeles.

Masked rioters have been wreaking havoc, setting vehicles ablaze and hurling commercial-grade explosives at law enforcement officers, prompting the LAPD to declare the situation an unlawful assembly on Sunday evening.

Earlier that evening, LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell acknowledged the untenable situation, admitting that the riots have spiraled out of control and that his officers are significantly outnumbered. This comes after the LAPD’s insistence that the protests were merely “peaceful.”

“We are overwhelmed,” McDonnell stated candidly.

In light of the escalating violence, Chief McDonnell expressed his newfound support for collaborating with the National Guard. “We had individuals shooting commercial-grade fireworks at our officers. That can kill you,” he warned.

President Trump took to Truth Social, issuing a flurry of posts advocating for law and order. “Jim McDonnell, the highly respected LAPD Chief, just stated that the protesters are getting very much more aggressive, and that he would ‘have to reassess the situation’ regarding troop deployment. He should, RIGHT NOW!!! Don’t let these thugs get away with this. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” Trump proclaimed.

“Looking really bad in L.A. BRING IN THE TROOPS!!!” Trump continued in his posts.

“ARREST THE PEOPLE IN FACE MASKS, NOW!” he added emphatically.
