British lawmaker Bob Blackman has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the tragic loss of 26 lives, predominantly tourists. The Conservative MP expressed solidarity with India’s retaliatory actions against Pakistan through Operation Sindoor and urged the United Kingdom’s Prime Minister Kair Starmer government to take decisive measures against terrorist camps operating in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

“In the wake of the heinous terror incident in Pahalgam, India conducted Operation Sindoor: targeted air-strikes on 9 terrorist installations. While peace negotiations are ongoing, I inquired about the Foreign Secretary’s efforts to ensure the eradication of terrorist bases in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir,” Blackman stated during his address at the House of Commons. He also shared a video of his speech on X.

His statements clearly indicated Pakistan’s complicity in sheltering terrorist groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba, including one of its factions, The Resistance Front, which claimed responsibility for the attack.

Responding to his query, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy labeled the Pahalgam terror attack as “horrific” and affirmed that the British government was collaborating with both India and Pakistan to combat terrorism.

“The abhorrent terrorism we witnessed, where 26 individuals were abducted and shot, was truly horrific. We unequivocally condemn it and will continue to engage with our close partners to address these terrorist threats,” Lammy emphasized.

Lammy stressed the necessity for support from both nations to ensure sustainable peace, ultimately leading to “an enduring peace.”

Blackman had previously denounced the Pahalgam terrorist assault and urged his government to fully endorse India’s efforts to eradicate terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. During his speech at the UK Parliament on April 29, he highlighted that the attack in Kashmir was meticulously orchestrated and targeted “either Hindu or Christian” men.
