Brooklyn Beckham has finally broken his silence regarding the prolonged family feud that has left his once-close-knit clan feeling the strain.
During a recent outing at the Ryder Cup Celebrity All-Star Match on September 24, the 26-year-old discussed the family tensions that have resulted in his estrangement from parents David and Victoria, as well as his younger brothers, Romeo and Cruz.
“People are going to talk nonsense no matter what,” Brooklyn shared with the Daily Mail. “For me, it’s all about enjoying golf with friends. It’s just a good time.”
When pressed on how he copes with the surrounding public scrutiny, Brooklyn credited his wife, Nicola Peltz-Beckham, for their steady foundation.
“There will always be negativity, but I’m lucky to have a very supportive wife,” Brooklyn explained. “We focus on our own lives and keep working hard. Ultimately, we’re happy together.”
Married in 2022, Brooklyn and Nicola, 30, recently renewed their vows on August 2, as reported exclusively by Us Weekly. Notably, none of Brooklyn’s immediate family members attended the ceremony.
Post-tournament, Brooklyn stated that he would be returning to Los Angeles to assist Nicola, who was managing their four dogs solo. “I need to get back,” he emphasized. “I left her with all the dogs; I need to help out and get back to work.”
This year, Brooklyn embarked on a new venture with a hot sauce brand named Cloud 23, constantly showcasing his culinary exploits on Instagram.
Regardless of the familial discord, Brooklyn mentioned he never frets over what others say about his personal life.
The Beckham family dynamic has been rocky since David’s 50th birthday bash in May.
Brooklyn and Nicola notably chose to forego the festivities, mainly to steer clear of a confrontation with Romeo’s then-girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, as revealed by a source to Us Weekly. Since then, Brooklyn has had no direct communication with his family.
According to a source in June, David and Victoria Beckham transitioned from feelings of sadness to acceptance regarding their relationship with Brooklyn, coming to grips with the situation and what it means for their familial bonds.
“They are done discussing it,” the insider remarked. “At this point, the ball lies in Brooklyn’s court if he desires to mend fences.”
In a gesture of goodwill, Brooklyn did send birthday wishes to his sister Harper when she turned 14 in July.
“Happy birthday, Harper. We love you!” Brooklyn posted via Instagram Story alongside Nicola.
