Prince Harry, the self-styled rebel of the British Royal Family, has once again taken center stage, airing his grievances against the UK government and his own kin—specifically his father, King Charles, who allegedly won’t engage with him.
This public outpouring comes on the heels of Harry’s defeat in a three-and-a-half-year legal battle to secure taxpayer-funded police protection while in the UK.
His recent BBC interview has sparked a wave of criticism, particularly after he made a startling remark regarding his father’s health, claiming he didn’t “know how much longer” King Charles has to live. This has, predictably, ignited speculation about the monarch’s well-being.

As noted by the Daily Mail, Harry expressed, “There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family,’ he said: ‘Of course, they will never forgive me for lots of things but… there’s no point in continuing to fight anymore.”
He added, “Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has; he won’t speak to me because of this security stuff. It would be nice to reconcile.”

In the wake of his controversial statements, Alisa Anderson, a former press secretary to the late Queen Elizabeth II, described Harry’s comments about the King’s health as “unhelpful.”
She remarked, “Commenting that the royal family would be ‘raising their eyes heavenwards’ is bound to raise real concern and more speculation in the media about what his diagnosis is. If you truly want reconciliation, you’ll do it in private, not in a BBC News interview.”
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams commented on Harry’s mindset: “He believes that the Royal household is completely poisoned against him. There’s a conspiracy aspect to it; he feels there are malign forces out to get him or his family.”

According to sources from Buckingham Palace, King Charles had been optimistic about reconciling with Harry before the interview aired, depending on Harry’s response to his recent legal defeat.
During the interview, Prince Harry ominously suggested that his reduced security status could leave him and his family vulnerable to dangers reminiscent of those that befell his mother, Princess Diana, who tragically died in a car crash in Paris in 1997 while being pursued by paparazzi.
