Gunshots rang out at a local ABC news station in Sacramento, California, with employees present inside the building during the terrifying incident.
The Sacramento Police Department received reports of shots fired at the ABC10 news station in downtown Sacramento around 1:30 PM. Visual evidence shows three bullet holes in one of the windows of the building.
Despite journalists being present inside the building at the time of the shooting, thankfully, no injuries were reported.
Authorities have labeled the incident as a drive-by shooting, and an investigation is currently underway with no suspects in custody at this time.
ABC10 functions as an affiliate of ABC, serving the communities of Sacramento, Stockton, and Modesto.
The station is currently under the ownership of Tegna, with a pending acquisition deal by Nexstar Media Group valued at $6.2 billion, which includes the acquisition of ABC10.

Nexstar Media Group took the lead in suspending Jimmy Kimmel’s show, initially removing it from its 32 ABC affiliate stations. Subsequently, ABC also pulled the show from its network following Nexstar’s action.
It remains unclear if the shooting at the ABC news station is connected to the Jimmy Kimmel suspension, as authorities are still investigating the motive behind the attack.
