Center for Craft Announces $5,000 Craft Archive Fellowship

The Center for Craft is excited to announce the launch of the 2026 Craft Archive Fellowship, which will award up to four $5,000 fellowships to support research on underrepresented craft histories in the United States. This unique opportunity culminates in an article to be featured on Hyperallergic.

Center for Craft

The Craft Archive Fellowship is open to a diverse group of scholars, ranging from emerging to established, including independent and artist researchers. The focus of the research will be on feminist, intersectional, queer, Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian American and Pacific Islander, and other nondominant craft histories. Fellows will have the opportunity to explore both traditional and innovative archival research methods, with the final output being a special feature on Hyperallergic and a virtual program hosted by the Center for Craft in September 2027.

Three of the Craft Archive Fellowships will be named in honor of Ayumi Horie, Sara Clugage, and the Gallaher Family. For those interested in sponsoring additional awards, please contact give@centerforcraft.org.

An information session will be held virtually on April 7, 2026, from 5 to 6 pm (ET). The session is free to attend, but registration is required. Register here.

Application Deadline: May 20, 2026
