Deadly Shootout in Logan Square Leaves One Man Dead

Chicago police reported a fatal shootout between the occupants of two vehicles in Logan Square on Wednesday evening, resulting in the death of one man.

According to CPD, at 8:05 p.m., a man driving a stolen Chrysler 300 was involved in a gun battle with individuals in a black SUV in the 2300 block of North Kimball. The Chrysler eventually crashed into parked cars, while the SUV fled the scene.

The driver of the stolen Chrysler was rushed to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center but succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head.

Inside the Chrysler, investigators discovered a firearm that had been reported stolen from the 2800 block of West Albion in West Rogers Park.

CPD is currently working to identify the deceased man.
