In a 2019 interview with Good Morning America, she expressed, “It sounds kind of corny, but there’s something about after you’ve walked through something like this, which is such a crisis, to be able to help someone who’s then going through. It really is something that I’m happy to do.”
Cynthia Nixon faced her own battle with breast cancer after being diagnosed in 2006. By 2008, she announced that she was cancer-free.
Appearing on Nightline in 2008, she stated, “The only thing to really be afraid of is if you don’t go get your mammograms, because there’s some part of you that doesn’t want to know, and that’s the thing that’s going to trip you up. That’s the thing that could have a really bad endgame.”
