Chappell Roan, the talented singer, has decided to part ways with her talent agency, Wasserman, after its CEO and founder, Casey Wasserman, was implicated in documents related to the late sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein. In an Instagram Story shared on Monday, February 9, the 27-year-old artist announced her decision and expressed her commitment to upholding high moral standards within her team.
Roan stated, “I hold my teams to the highest standards and have a duty to protect them as well. No artist, agent, or employee should ever be expected to defend or overlook actions that conflict so deeply with our own moral values.” She further emphasized the importance of artists having representation that aligns with their values and supports their safety and dignity.
Following the emergence of documents linking Wasserman to Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell, Roan made the difficult decision to sever ties with the agency. In one email from 2003, Wasserman made inappropriate comments to Maxwell, which he later expressed regret for. Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for her involvement in illegal activities.
In light of these revelations, Roan’s departure from Wasserman underscores her commitment to accountability and ethical leadership in the industry. The Department of Justice released additional federal documents, known as the Epstein files, in January as part of ongoing investigations into Epstein’s crimes. President Donald Trump signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act into law in November 2025, requiring the DOJ to publish all unclassified records related to the investigation and prosecution of Epstein.
