Claire Danes and Ewan McGregor have been announced as the stars of Hulu’s new drama series, “The Spot,” written by Ed Solomon. The series is a collaboration between A24 and 20th Television.
Danes replaces Kate Winslet, who left the project earlier this year due to creative differences. Winslet was set to executive produce the show through her Juggle Productions banner.
“The Spot” follows the story of a successful surgeon and her schoolteacher husband who suspect she may be responsible for a child’s hit-and-run death. As suspicions grow, their marriage is put to the test.
Ed Solomon, known for his work on HBO Max’s “Full Circle,” serves as writer, executive producer, and showrunner for the series. Robin Sweet and Ariel Kleiman are also executive producers, with Kleiman set to direct.
This project reunites Danes and McGregor, who were originally set to star together in Jodie Foster’s circus drama “Flora Plum” over 20 years ago. Danes will next appear in Netflix’s miniseries “The Beast Inside Me,” while McGregor recently starred in Paramount+’s “A Gentlemen in Moscow” and Netflix’s “Halston.”
“The Spot” promises to be a gripping drama filled with suspense and intrigue, with Danes and McGregor leading the way in bringing this compelling story to life. Stay tuned for more updates on this highly anticipated series.
