Scott Jennings, a political commentator, succinctly critiqued this behavior during a recent CNN segment, likening it to an elaborate performance intended for the party’s base.

Upon returning from Israel, Jennings appeared ready to dissect the antics of what he termed the “theater kids” in the Democratic Party. When asked whether he thought their actions were emotionally charged and deliberately staged for public consumption, he responded affirmatively.
“I agree with some of that. I agree they are emotional. And the last part. They do want the public to see,” Jennings noted. He elaborated, stating, “What they’re doing is clearly creating stunts. These are political stunts… This is sort of like entertainment for their base. There’s a lot of capital right now in the Democratic Party for getting arrested.” He humorously expressed that he wouldn’t recognize certain politicians, like Padilla, even if offered a substantial sum to identify him.
Jennings also mentioned that if Padilla truly wished to engage with Governor Noem, he had ample opportunity to do so, as evidenced by a brief meeting she granted him post-incident.
Reflecting on the bizarre lengths to which Democrats are going to advocate for the undocumented population, Jennings found their actions “baffling.” He concluded, “The theater kids have taken over. They are desperate to create theater, and that’s all it is.”
