Scott Jennings, the solitary conservative commentator on CNN, emphatically criticized Democrats for rallying behind indicted New York Attorney General Letitia James, asserting that she is facing undue selective prosecution.
Jennings pointedly remarked that the theme of âselective prosecutionâ has fundamentally underpinned James’s career, twisting the irony knife into the heart of her defense.
It’s quite astonishing to witness Democratic leaders and media figures engaging in historical amnesia, as they conveniently ignore the last decade. They behave as if the current crises exist in a vacuum, reminiscent of a reality show where the plot resets every season.

âIf Democrats like Slotkin choose to lament selective prosecutions regarding Tish Jamesâher entire career is built on the selective prosecution of one man.â
âThere’s a legal process. Everyone is entitled to their day in court. Clearly, a grand jury found sufficient evidence to bring charges. We may not know the particulars yet, but it indicates there is legitimacy to the claims. She will face the legal system, just as Comey and others have.â
âHowever, indulging in sympathy for alleged selective prosecutions on behalf of someone who centered her campaign on targeting a specific individual risks being a hollow argument.â

Just a year ago, Ms. James projected an air of confidence, as reported by the Daily Beast:
Letitia James Hits Back After Ex-Prez Leaves Court: âTrump Show is Overâ
Following former President Trumpâs court appearanceâwhere he appeared for three days at a trial assessing up to $250 million in losses that threaten his real estate empireâJames proclaimed to reporters, âThe Donald Trump show is over.â She countered Trump’s scathing remarks as âdevoid of substanceâ and mere political theatrics, alluding to comments that incited violence and could be associated with racial provocations.
James also criticized Trump for his disparaging social media remarks targeting a court clerk, resulting in Judge Arthur Engoron issuing a gag order against him. Engoron had previously determined that Trump had defrauded financial institutions through inflated property valuations.
Well, Letitia, the timeless adage remains: No one is above the law.
