Former Colorado Businessman Avoids Jail Time in Plea Deal for Assaulting Teen at In-N-Out

A former Colorado businessman, Lucas Kalisher, received 30 months of probation for assaulting a 15-year-old boy at an In-N-Out restaurant in Loveland, Colo. Kalisher, the ex-CEO of Summit Source Funding, was captured on video grabbing the teenager by the neck and throwing him to the ground after the boy accidentally splashed water on Kalisher’s wife.

Initially facing felony assault and misdemeanor child abuse charges, Kalisher made a plea deal with Colorado’s 8th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, which includes completing anger management evaluation and treatment, writing an apology letter to the teen, community service, and paying restitution to the victim.

If Kalisher fails to meet the probation terms, he could face a felony charge carrying prison time, parole, and a fine.

The incident occurred when the teen was playing around with friends and accidentally splashed water on Kalisher’s wife. Kalisher reacted by violently grabbing and throwing the boy to the floor, as captured in the viral video.

Kalisher and his wife left the scene before surrendering to the police later that night. Customers in the restaurant and the father of one of the teens condemned Kalisher’s actions, calling him out for mistreating a young boy.

Despite initially pleading not guilty and being released on bond, Kalisher ultimately accepted the plea deal and avoided jail time. The case drew public attention for the assault on a minor and the subsequent legal proceedings.
