Colorado secretary of state orders mandatory recount in House District 16 race

El Paso County’s House District 16 will undergo a recount of over 40,000 ballots as Republican Rebecca Keltie leads by six votes against incumbent Democratic Rep. Stephanie Vigil.

The recount, mandated due to the close margin, was officially ordered by Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold on Monday evening.

El Paso County is required to re-scan all ballots from the initial tabulation, with the recount deadline set for December 6, as per the order.
