Standup comedian Ian Edwards has a humorous take for fans of canceled artists: simply choose to remain blissfully unaware of the allegations against them!
In his latest YouTube special, titled “Untitled: The Comedy Special You Didn’t Know You Needed,” Ian quips, “If you’ve watched the Michael Jackson documentary on HBO and still listen to his tracks, you’re just not thinking clearly… I, however, have skipped the documentary altogether.”
The special, now available for streaming, was filmed at the Comedy Store and is packed with laughs, including this gem: “Why do couples throw gender reveal parties when they have no idea what their child will identify as? What if you get it wrong, and accidentally set California ablaze with the wrong color smoke!”
Ian is a familiar face to comedy lovers, known for his spot on the “Joe Rogan Experience” and his role in the critically acclaimed film “Tangerine” by Oscar-winning director Sean Baker. Additionally, he is an executive producer of the popular Netflix comedy series “Survival of the Thickest,” featuring Michelle Buteau, and previously worked as a writer on Judd Apatow’s HBO series “Crashing.”
In a previous conversation with TMZ, Ian shared his views on celebrating the Fourth of July amidst calls for a boycott… offering a thoughtful perspective on enjoying the holiday despite its controversial history.
“I refuse to let a holiday pass me by and dishonor [my ancestors] like that,” Ian remarked, acknowledging the fact that many enslaved people were denied the chance to celebrate. “It’s time to party!”
Ian’s inaugural comedy special, titled “100% Half-Assed,” debuted in 2014 under Conan O’Brien‘s Team Coco Records.
