A recent incident at a youth football game in Connecticut has shocked the community after a coach was arrested for physically assaulting a 7-year-old player from the opposing team. Daniel Fazio, a 38-year-old assistant coach for the New Milford Bulls, allegedly pushed the young player to the ground during a game against the Water-Oak Youth Football Team.

The altercation was caught on camera and quickly spread on social media, sparking outrage among parents and spectators. The child thankfully did not sustain any injuries from the incident, but the actions of Fazio were deemed unacceptable by both the football league and law enforcement.

Following the incident, the New Milford Bulls released a statement condemning Fazio’s behavior and announcing his immediate termination from the coaching staff. The organization emphasized that such behavior does not align with their values and principles, and they are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for all players.

Fazio was arrested and charged with second-degree breach of peace, disorderly conduct, and risk of injury to a child. He posted a $20,000 bond and is set to appear in court on October 2nd to address the charges brought against him.

The incident serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of sportsmanship and respect in youth sports. Coaches play a crucial role in shaping the character and values of young athletes, and incidents like this must be addressed swiftly and decisively to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
