A tragic incident unfolded over the weekend in the Bronx, resulting in the death of a 15-year-old Connecticut boy, Eric Aitken, and the injury of another teenage boy. The shooting took place inside the Eastchester Houses building, where Aitken once lived before moving to Waterbury.

Aitken was found in the stairwell of the building on Adee Avenue with a gunshot wound to his chest. Despite being rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, he tragically succumbed to his injuries. The other boy, aged 14, was shot in the left arm but managed to flee the scene and seek help a few blocks away.

The violence erupted from a confrontation between two groups within the housing development. It is unclear whether Aitken was specifically targeted or simply caught in the crossfire. No arrests have been made as of Monday afternoon, leaving many questions unanswered.

The community is left grieving the loss of a young life and grappling with the senseless violence that has plagued the neighborhood. The tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need to address the root causes of such conflicts and work towards creating safer environments for all residents.

As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in bringing those responsible to justice. The memory of Eric Aitken will live on, as his loved ones seek closure and justice for the senseless act of violence that cut his life short.
