Corbin, a contestant from “Love Island USA” Season 8, described his exit from the show as “humiliating.” However, unlike other recently eliminated couples such as Jen and Gal, Corbin remains optimistic about the future as he left hand in hand with Parmida, his connection from Casa Amor.
“I see this connection going super far,” Corbin shared with Variety. “Her mindset, oh my gosh! She’s an entrepreneur. I love ambitious women — the fact that she has an entrepreneurial mindset, she wants a lot of things for herself, she wants to be top dog in the business world and I’m like, ‘This is beautiful!’”
The tension in last Sunday’s episode peaked between Corbin and Parmida and Zach and Kayda, as both couples received the fewest votes for compatibility from fans. Although Kenzie and Dylan were also in this group, they were saved thanks to their victory in the karaoke challenge.
Corbin’s friendship with Sincere faced challenges during movie night, where a montage revealed Sincere leading on two islanders, Melanie and Sol. This revelation opened the eyes of many on the island to the reality of Sincere’s actions.
“He was telling us one thing, Melanie one thing, telling everybody else one thing but they’re all different stories. You can’t have that as a friendship. I forgive but I don’t forget,” Corbin remarked. “I told him in the chats after, ‘Listen. That was your one chance. I know what you did, you’re in an experience, you’re having fun, you think you can get away with it, that’s cool!’”
After his elimination, Corbin discussed with Variety his lively time in the villa, his friendship’s status with Sincere after movie night exposed Sincere’s true character, and his response to being labeled “CorbinGPT” online and in the villa.
It’s been a few days since you’ve left the villa. How have you adjusted to getting back in the real world and seeing people’s thoughts on social media?
Time in the villa feels stretched, like a week packed into a single day. Having been in the villa for as long as I was, leaving felt more like stepping out after a long dream rather than a single day. You’re in a closed environment, interacting with the same people daily, doing repetitive activities. Exiting to a hotel felt surreal, as the villa activities don’t mirror real life — you don’t typically hit a bar and kiss six random girls consecutively. It was a wild transition.
We saw you and Parmida leave together, holding hands as a couple. In the days together, have you been spending time together? Where do you see this connection and relationship going?
Our connection feels promising. Experiencing challenges and having deep conversations in the villa has strengthened our bond. Although not all our chats were shown on TV, Parmida and I are aware of the depth of our interactions. This makes me confident about exploring life and its adventures with her outside the villa.
What drew you to Parmida out of everybody in Casa Amor?
We share similar values, particularly honesty. Neither of us likes deceit, and we prefer being direct. It’s about being truthful, even if it means stepping on some toes. Our mutual understanding and straightforwardness help us navigate conflicts more effectively without dancing around issues or avoiding uncomfortable truths.
Parmida’s entrepreneurial spirit is inspiring. I admire ambitious women, and her drive to succeed in the business world is beautiful. As an entrepreneur myself, I appreciate her understanding of the challenges we face. Beyond her ambition, she’s stunning, and together, we complement each other well.
Walk me through what was going through your head during your elimination. Were you surprised that the islanders chose not to save you guys versus Zach and Kayda?
Leaving the villa that way was tough. Singing and dancing isn’t my forte, so coming last in karaoke and getting eliminated felt humiliating. Standing next to Zach and Kayda, I realized I wasn’t competing on connection but on time. They’d been together from the start, whereas my connection with Parmida was new. It was disheartening seeing everyone vote for Zach, but having KC and Titi support me was touching, as we shared a strong bond and brotherhood in the villa.
One moment that got fans talking, of course, was movie night. Specifically with everything that went down with Sincere and how he was leading both Sol and Melanie on. You also voted Sincere and Melanie as one of the least compatible couples.
It was difficult voting against Sincere, my friend, but I had to stay true to my values of accountability and honesty. Parmida advised voting for Sincere and Melanie, and though it was hard, I agreed with her reasoning. Sincere’s inconsistent stories were damaging, and I had to confront him about it, ensuring he knew how it affected his friendships and connections. Although it was challenging, he respected my decision, and we remain friends, though I now expect him to prove his sincerity through actions.
You had a clear connection with Melanie earlier in the season. Do you foresee Sincere and Melanie being together after the show? Even Parmida called their relationship “toxic,” do you agree with her assessment?
In the villa, both Melanie and Sincere had issues, with Melanie’s actions and Sincere’s responses causing friction. Their relationship is indeed toxic, but the experience might help them understand each other outside the villa. Their ups and downs could forge a bond, but Sincere needs to learn from his mistakes and avoid distractions to improve his future interactions with Melanie.
Have you seen that people online are calling you CorbinGPT?
I’ve seen the “CorbinGPT” nickname and find it amusing. It started when I entered as a bombshell, and the guys noticed my confident demeanor and animated mannerisms, likening me to an AI. The joke gained traction in the villa and online, but it’s funny seeing it now, as I’m just being myself.
Lastly, who’s your winner prediction for Sunday night?
Bryce and Trinity have a strong chance, having been the first couple to formalize their relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend. Bryce’s sincerity and feelings for Trinity are genuine, as I witnessed during our time in Casa Amor. However, KC and Titi are also formidable contenders with their solid partnership. It’ll be exciting to see them compete head-to-head.
