Midwestern Coyote Breaks Into Chicago Aldi Supermarket
Wile E. Coyote may not be the smartest mutt in the game, but a recent incident involving a daring coyote in a Chicago Aldi supermarket has captured the attention of many.
Police officers were called to the scene after a wild animal managed to enter one of the upright display coolers at the grocery store. Onlookers initially mistook the creature for a raccoon or possum, common scavengers known to cause trouble.
To everyone’s surprise, the unwanted guest turned out to be a coyote. Two officers attempted to coax the coyote out of the deli section using brooms.
Despite being pulled out by its tail, the coyote was determined to stay in the cooler. In a video of the incident, the coyote can be seen making a quick leap back into the cold foods, much to the officers’ dismay.
Where’s the Road Runner when you need him?!? The coyote was eventually apprehended and is now in the care of Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation. They plan to assess the animal and potentially release it back into the wild.
It’s still unclear how the coyote managed to enter the supermarket, but considering it’s mating season, the wily coyote may have been on the prowl for food.
