Crystal Hefner recently celebrated her marriage with a cherished piece of jewelry connected to her family history.
On April 2, Hefner, 39, exchanged vows with her husband, James Ward. In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, she revealed the sentimental significance of her wedding band, which once belonged to her late father, Ray Harris. “My wedding band was my late father’s ring, who I miss so much, that he wore on his pinky,” Crystal, who was previously married to the late Hugh Hefner, explained.
She mentioned that the “simple gold band” is complemented by Ward’s wedding ring, which features Hawaiian flowers and leaves etched on the inside, symbolizing their shared life and the place they first met.
Crystal also shared details about her wedding dress, describing it as a dream come true. She told Us that her lace gown with a plunging neckline was exactly what she envisioned. Designed by OKSANA MUKAH, the dress was adorned with 5,400 crystals and had a “beautiful” train. “The dress was stunning against the sandbar and island backdrop,” Crystal said, adding that it fit her perfectly and made her feel genuinely happy.
Crystal and Ward, 42, held their intimate wedding ceremony in Aitutaki, a picturesque island in the Cook Islands of the South Pacific. “The wedding was simple and beautiful,” Crystal shared with Us. “We had a talented band who sang some local songs mixed with American songs. They also happened to sing a song my dad used to sing so we definitely felt he was there with us.”

She added that “everyone went above and beyond” to make the day special for her and Ward, including organizing a private dinner post-ceremony.
In April 2025, Ward proposed to Crystal in Hawaii, presenting a six-carat, vintage mine-cut diamond on a thin band, as Us reported.

Crystal later recounted to Us the meaningful nature of their engagement, calling it “full circle.” She described the proposal location as the same place where they had a quiet picnic a year prior, a spot that had become special to them. When she saw the flowers, handwritten notes, and the expansive sea, she realized something extraordinary was about to happen.
Crystal was married to Hugh Hefner from 2012 until his passing in 2017. Last year, she filed to revert her name from “Crystal Margaret Hefner” back to her maiden name, “Crystal Margaret Harris.”
