Andrew Cuomo, a candidate for mayor, has once again changed his stance on congestion pricing, now expressing support for the Manhattan toll program after previously calling for it to be paused last year.

In a recent interview with the New York Times, Cuomo claimed that his opinion on congestion pricing has always been consistent and unwavering, despite past contradictions.

While Cuomo had initially approved the plan to toll vehicles entering Manhattan below 60th Street, he later advocated for a pause on the program in an op-ed for the New York Post.

Despite his past reservations, Cuomo now acknowledges the success of congestion pricing and openly supports it, citing concerns about diverting people from unsafe subway systems.

In response to criticism, Cuomo defended his previous opposition as a call for further study before implementation to ensure public safety.

However, this apparent change in stance has raised eyebrows, with one Democratic operative accusing Cuomo of lacking core principles and pandering for political gain.
