Tragic Incident in Ohio: Dad Mistakenly Kills Innocent Mom with Machete
In a horrifying turn of events, a father in Ohio allegedly murdered a woman with a machete, believing her to be his daughter’s ex-boyfriend. The incident took place in Camden, southwest Ohio, and has left the community in shock.
The father, Kenneth Brabant, 59, reportedly took action when his daughter called the police to report her ex-boyfriend driving recklessly on their street. However, the situation quickly escalated when an unrelated motorcyclist, not the ex-boyfriend, informed authorities that his passenger, Leigha Huff, 41, had been attacked with a machete. Tragically, Huff, who had been battling cancer, passed away before help could arrive.
Authorities revealed that Brabant had mistakenly targeted Huff, throwing the machete at her in a fit of rage, believing she was his daughter’s ex-boyfriend. Sheriff Mike Simpson described the incident as a tragic case of mistaken identity.
Brabant was arrested the following day and is facing charges of murder, tampering with evidence, attempted murder, and assault. He is currently being held in the Preble County Jail on a $1 million bond.
During his initial court appearance, Brabant expressed remorse, saying, “All I can say is I’m sorry,” as he struggled to contain his emotions.

Friends and family of Leigha Huff are devastated by her untimely death. Jeremy Tucker, a longtime friend, described her as an “awesome mother” to her son. He emphasized that she was a kind and caring individual who was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The community is reeling from this tragic incident, as they come to terms with the loss of a beloved member. The impact of this senseless act of violence will be felt for a long time to come.
