Dan Bongino, a former Fox News Channel weekend host and deputy director of the FBI, is making a comeback to the cable-news outlet as a contributor, as confirmed by the network on Monday.
Bongino is set to make an appearance on “Hannity” on Monday night to discuss the case of Nancy Guthrie, the missing mother of “Today” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie.
Having gained popularity as one of Fox News’ most right-leaning personalities, Bongino is returning to old media circles. His background includes serving as a New York City police officer and working as an agent for the U.S. Secret Service.
In addition to his television presence, Bongino has hosted popular radio programs. His previous show replaced the long-running program hosted by Rush Limbaugh, and a one-hour radio show he did for Westwood One also aired on the Fox Nation streaming service.
Bongino first joined Fox News as a contributor in 2019 and later went on to host the weekend program “Unfiltered With Dan Bongino” by 2021. However, he left the network in 2023 after facing challenges in negotiating new contract terms. On his podcast, he explained, “You know, I’ve been there doing hits and working there for ten years… so the show ending was tough. And I want you to know it’s not some big conspiracy. I promise you. There’s no acrimony. This wasn’t some WWE brawl that happened. We just couldn’t come to terms on an extension.”
Overall, Bongino’s return to Fox News marks a significant move in his career, showcasing his versatility in both television and radio broadcasting. His insights and perspectives are expected to continue resonating with audiences across various media platforms.
