Netflix’s “Zero Day” Stars Dan Stevens and Robert De Niro in Political Thriller

In the new political thriller series “Zero Day” on Netflix, Dan Stevens takes on the role of Evan Green, a bold and outspoken internet personality caught up in a White House investigation following a global cyber attack. Robert De Niro plays George Mullen, a former U.S. president who comes out of retirement to lead the investigation. The dynamic between Stevens and De Niro’s characters adds a thrilling intensity to the show, with Stevens describing the experience as both intimidating and exhilarating.

In a recent interview on the “Just for Variety” podcast, Stevens shared insights into his experience working on the series and his interactions with iconic co-stars like De Niro. He discussed the challenges of filming intense scenes and the excitement of acting opposite a legend like De Niro.

While some viewers may draw parallels between the characters in “Zero Day” and real-life political figures, Stevens emphasized that the show exists in a parallel universe, offering a unique take on political drama. He also teased his upcoming project, a film about the creation of the Bumble dating app, where he portrays investor Andrey Andreev opposite Lily James as Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd.

When asked about his personal experiences with dating apps like Bumble and Tinder, Stevens admitted that they came along after his time, but he found the concept fascinating. He shared a humorous anecdote about a friend showing him the early days of Grindr, highlighting the evolving landscape of online dating.

Despite the intense themes of “Zero Day,” Stevens brought a lighthearted tone to the interview, showcasing his versatility as an actor. Fans can now stream “Zero Day” on Netflix to experience the gripping political intrigue and stellar performances from the cast.
