The highly anticipated Desert Perpetual Raid has been officially announced as the latest addition to Destiny 2’s The Edge of Fate expansion. Following the success of Salvation’s Edge, players are eagerly awaiting the release of this new Raid on July 19. With high expectations set by its predecessor, Bungie has a tough task ahead to deliver an even more thrilling and challenging Raid experience.
The Desert Perpetual Raid is set to go live on July 19, and players around the world are gearing up for the world’s first race to conquer this new challenge. The official release times for the Raid in various regions are as follows:
– United States: 10 am PT (July 19)

– China: 1 am local time (July 20)
– UK: 5 pm BST (July 19)
– Australia: 4 am local time (July 20)
– Brazil: 2 pm local time (July 19)

To enter The Desert Perpetual Raid, players must complete The Edge of Fate campaign on any difficulty. However, it is recommended to finish the campaign in Legendary mode to ensure optimal power levels for the Raid on July 19. The time between the expansion’s launch and the Raid’s release is limited, so completing the Legendary campaign is the best way to prepare.
The Raid will feature a contest mode that will be active for 48 hours from July 19-21. While the exact power requirements for the contest mode have not been disclosed, players can refer to the power cap guide for The Edge of Fate for a better understanding. The world’s first race will see the first team to clear the final encounter and loot the chest declared as the winner. Teams do not need to return to Orbit for the race to be completed.
After the world’s first race, a normal version of the Raid will be available, and the contest mode will continue until July 21 for players who want to earn the emblem. Stay tuned for more updates on The Desert Perpetual Raid and get ready to embark on this new adventure in Destiny 2.
