For us, it was about the authenticity of the character and where he needed to end up. We never really toyed with the idea of killing him off because we felt like it would have been a disservice to the character and to the fans who have been with us for seven seasons. It was important for us to give Jason a resolution that felt true to who he was and the journey he had been on throughout the series.
With “SEAL Team” now coming to an end, what do you hope viewers take away from the series as a whole?
I hope that viewers take away the importance of mental health and the impact that trauma can have on individuals, especially those who serve in the military. We wanted to shed light on the struggles that these men and women face both on the battlefield and at home, and I think we were able to do that in a way that was authentic and respectful. I also hope that viewers take away a sense of gratitude for the sacrifices that our service members make every day to protect our country and our freedoms.
Looking back on your career, what do you think has been the key to your longevity in Hollywood?
I think the key to my longevity has been my willingness to take on diverse roles and challenge myself as an actor. I’ve been fortunate to work on a variety of projects, from supernatural dramas to crime procedurals to military shows, and I think that versatility has allowed me to continue to grow and evolve as a performer. I also think my dedication to my craft and my respect for the work has helped me to sustain a career in this industry for as long as I have.
Lastly, with the recent trend of TV revivals, would you ever consider reprising your role as Seeley Booth in a “Bones” revival?
Oh, absolutely. I love that character and that show so much, and I would jump at the chance to step back into Booth’s shoes. “Bones” was such a special show, and I think there’s still so much story left to tell with those characters. If the opportunity ever presented itself, I would definitely consider reprising my role and reuniting with the cast and crew. It’s always a possibility, and I would be thrilled to explore that world again.
As David Boreanaz reflects on the end of “SEAL Team” and looks ahead to potential future projects, it’s clear that his passion for acting and storytelling remains as strong as ever. With a career spanning multiple hit TV shows and a dedicated fan base, Boreanaz continues to prove that he is a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood.
Yeah, we were able to do that — break the mold and be consistent with that. I think that’s what people loved about it. We were able to tell these stories about the human condition and the relationships, and it wasn’t just about the crime. It was about the characters and their growth, and I think that’s why people continue to revisit the show. But what we did on “Bones” was a wonderful experience, and it’s a show that will always hold a special place in my heart. It was just a great ride, and I learned so much from that show. I was able to carry that over into “SEAL Team,” where we focus on the characters and their relationships just as much as the missions. It’s all about the human connection.
And I think that’s why people continue to watch both shows. They see the authenticity in the relationships, the struggles, the triumphs, and the growth of the characters. It’s not just about the action or the crime-solving. It’s about the people behind it all. And I’m grateful to have been a part of both shows that have touched so many lives in different ways.
She’s got her own series now, which is great, and she’s been able to balance that with her family life. They’re still together, they’re still strong, and they still have that chemistry that made them such a beloved TV couple. I think they would be living a happy and fulfilling life, continuing to solve crimes and support each other in their respective careers. They are the small businesses that have struggled during the pandemic, and I want to make sure that their story is told in a way that is meaningful and impactful. It’s a project that is close to my heart, and I can’t wait to share more about it when the time is right.
In the meantime, I’m just grateful for all the opportunities that have come my way in my career. From my humble beginnings on “Married… With Children” to now, working on projects like “SEAL Team,” I’ve learned so much and grown as an artist. I’m excited to continue pushing myself and exploring new avenues in the industry.
And who knows, maybe one day I’ll find myself in the middle of a book tour with the FBI knocking on my door. It would certainly make for an interesting chapter in my own story. But for now, I’m focused on the present and the future, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me next. The Importance of Preserving the Simple Things in Life
