Marking a year since the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles that claimed his home, The Hills alum announced his mayoral candidacy in early 2026. Pratt, a registered Republican since 2020, is presenting himself as an “independent community advocate,” distancing himself from both major political parties. Despite this stance, he has received commendations from several MAGA personalities, including President Donald Trump.
“People want someone who tells them the truth,” Pratt shared in Us Weekly’s cover story. “I understand what it’s like to suffer from the city’s shortcomings—whether it’s losing your home to fire, facing crime, losing work due to business closures, or encountering troubling scenes in public spaces. I won’t stand by anymore.”
