David Letterman recently showed up for jury duty in New York and he couldn’t be more proud. The late-night legend expressed his excitement about being a part of the civic duty process as he made his way to the courthouse. While most people would be complaining about being summoned for jury duty, Letterman took it all in stride, calling it a great process to be a part of.

As he walked into the courthouse, Letterman remained tight-lipped about whether he had already been selected as a juror, mentioning that he would have to continue reporting until Labor Day. Despite the possibility of serving on a jury, it is unlikely that Letterman will be selected due to his high profile.

In a humorous twist, James Marsden’s participation in the Freevee show “Jury Duty” was mentioned, where he played an exaggerated version of himself alongside other eccentric characters who believed they were on a real jury for a civil trial. One juror, Ronald Gladden, didn’t realize the trial was a setup and interacted with Marsden and the cast as if it were legitimate.

Over the years, several famous faces have reported for jury duty, including Kim Kardashian, Lizzo, Taylor Swift, Gigi Hadid, Brad Pitt, and George W. Bush. Even Oprah Winfrey, Tom Hanks, and Anna Kendrick have been selected to serve on a jury in the past. With such a diverse group of celebrities fulfilling their civic duty, it’s entirely possible that Letterman may find himself in the crowd for the next big case.

In a world where wild things often happen in court, Letterman’s willingness to participate in jury duty serves as a reminder of the importance of upholding the justice system. As he continues to fulfill his civic responsibilities, we can only imagine the stories he will have to share from his time at the courthouse.
