Beacon Media and MovieVerse Studios Partner to Amplify Global South Content
Beacon Media, the entertainment company co-founded by wellness guru Deepak Chopra, has teamed up with MovieVerse Studios, the mainstream content arm of India’s IN10 Media Network, to showcase Global South content across various platforms. This collaboration aims to reach an audience of over three billion viewers spanning Hollywood, India, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.
The partnership between Beacon Media and MovieVerse Studios is set to tap into the growing demand for diverse international content. Their plans include creating traditional features as well as TikTok-ready micro-series to cater to a wide range of viewers.
MovieVerse Studios CEO, Vivek Krishnani, believes that this collaboration will help bring “culturally rooted narratives” to a global audience. Beacon Media chair, Manoj Narender Madnani, sees this alliance as part of a larger industry trend where collaboration is becoming more important than competition.
Both companies are focusing on digital-first content, with projects in development for platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, in addition to traditional series and features. They are also working on a Malayalam-language film for global audiences and adaptations of bestselling fiction by Deepak Chopra.
Beacon Media has appointed author-screenwriter Manini Priyan as head of content to oversee their slate of projects. The company has also formed a production alliance with former MBC Group drama director, Fadi Ismail, who is producing Arabic content for digital platforms.
The partnership between Beacon Media and MovieVerse Studios takes advantage of the growing economic ties between India and Gulf states, with Saudi Arabia and the U.A.E. being major investors in India’s entertainment and tech sectors. IN10 Media managing director, Aditya Pittie, believes that this collaboration will help create a diverse and inclusive content ecosystem that resonates with global audiences.
Beacon Media’s distribution platform, Lounges.tv, has the support of notable backers like Simon Cowell. IN10 Media’s portfolio includes channels like Epic, ShowBox, and Filamchi Bhojpuri, as well as streaming platform DocuBay and production house Juggernaut Productions.
