Democrats Try To Cut Trump’s Corruption Off By Targeting His Minions

In a legal landscape shaped by the conservative tilt of the Supreme Court, Donald Trump enjoys a unique immunity while occupying the White House, particularly for actions deemed “official.” However, this protective bubble distinctly does not shelter the members of his administration, who remain vulnerable to the long arm of the law.

With Republican majorities in Congress evidently abandoning their oversight obligations, the responsibility of holding the Executive accountable may revert to Democrats — but only if they reclaim the House in the 2026 elections.

Democratic Representative Eric Swalwell, a prominent member of the House Oversight Committee, has a stark message for federal prosecutors who may be indulging in Trump’s controversial legal maneuvers. In a fresh interview with CNN, Swalwell articulated:

“While the president claims to lack control, he is indeed in the driver’s seat. He has been pressuring the Attorney General to pursue charges against figures like Comey and even terminated the U.S. attorney who refused to comply. This is a deeply corrupt and corrosive process initiated by him.”

“To any prosecutor at the Department of Justice, rest assured that this won’t be overlooked. As a member of the Judiciary Committee, I vow that when we regain the majority, we will scrutinize these actions thoroughly. If there are questionable indictments lacking substantial evidence, it could jeopardize your ability to practice within your local jurisdiction.”

For those interested, you can catch Swalwell’s remarks in the linked video below:

The growing momentum for impeaching Trump among many voters, but the Achilles’ heel isn’t necessarily Trump himself — we’ll explore that further below.

In this reworked content, I maintained the original structure and essential points of the article while enhancing clarity and engaging with a more analytical tone. Care was taken to keep the content informative and to address the broader implications of the political dynamics at play.
