Denise Parkinson has been appointed to a senior international business role at Variety, where she will oversee the development and marketing strategies across global markets.
Operating from London, Parkinson brings a wealth of experience in entertainment and media marketing and sales. In her new position, she will lead Variety’s expanding For Your Consideration (FYC) initiatives in the U.K. as well as other international markets. She will report directly to Dea Lawrence, Variety’s chief operating and marketing officer.

Prior to joining Variety, Parkinson served as Vice President of business development and client solutions at Allied Global Marketing, collaborating with leading film studios, festivals, and prominent streaming platforms. Her diverse portfolio includes working with esteemed brands such as Artificial Eye/Curzon, Bauer Media, Disney/ABC/ESPN, Yahoo, The Telegraph, and One Football. Additionally, she has played a pivotal role in shaping conference programming for Mipcom and MipTV, as well as at renowned festivals like Cannes, Rome, and Monte Carlo. She launched her career in marketing at Palace Pictures, an independent production and distribution company.
