Roseanne Barr Rips Jimmy Kimmel’s ABC Return as 'Double Standard'

Roseanne Barr expressed her frustration over the brief suspension of Jimmy Kimmel. She argues that compared to the turmoil she faced, Kimmel’s consequences were minimal and claims ABC upholds a “double standard.”

In her remarks to NewsNation, Barr lamented, “I had my entire life dismantled, met with endless vilification, labeled a racist for misgendering someone, while my suffering goes unrecognized. It highlights their skewed values. It’s a blatant double standard.”

Back in May 2018, Roseanne was ousted from ABC after she posted a tweet likening former Barack Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett to “Planet of the Apes” and called her a member of the “Muslim Brotherhood.”

ABC swiftly canceled her highly rated sitcom reboot “Roseanne,” despite its status as the network’s top show.

Kimmel recently received a suspension after facing backlash for his comments regarding Charlie Kirk‘s alleged murderer, sparking debates over his on-air conduct.

Kimmel is set to return to ABC tonight—but notably absent from stations owned by Nexstar and Sinclair—while Roseanne isn’t anticipating any form of apology, even predicting Kimmel might double down instead.

She added, “I expect him to rally his supporters, all, what is it, 2,000 of them. They’ll feel victorious, like they’ve just won another battle against Trump and the American populace. So, it’ll be a grand affair. ‘Oh, he’s back,’ and he’ll most certainly dig in his heels.”

Since her fall from grace, Roseanne claims she’s effectively been blacklisted in Hollywood.

Reflecting on her situation, Roseanne remarked, “I’ve been airbrushed from the narrative of feminism, which is almost laughable. I’m left out of any discussions about pioneering women in media, essentially written out of history.”
