A man from Denver is currently facing murder charges after allegedly shooting his roommate, as per court documents.

Identified as Tyler Nelson, 30, he was taken into custody last week and officially charged with first-degree murder after careful consideration on Monday, according to records from the court. Nelson is presently detained at the Downtown Denver Detention Center on a bond set at $1 million.

Denver authorities reported that Nelson contacted 911 at approximately 1:02 a.m. last Tuesday to report a shooting incident at their residence located in the 600 block of South Dayton Street.

Upon arrival at the Windsor neighborhood, law enforcement officers discovered a female, who resided with Nelson, sustaining a gunshot wound. Sadly, the woman, whose identity has not been disclosed by the police, succumbed to her injuries before being transported to the hospital by paramedics.

At present, officials have refrained from disclosing the exact nature of the relationship between the two individuals.

The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner is slated to disclose the victim’s identity, cause, and manner of death at a later juncture.
