After a decade of serving up quality brews, Goldspot Brewing Co. in Denver is preparing to close its doors for the last time. However, fans of the beloved brewery need not worry, as the owner assures that this isn’t the end of the road.
The announcement of the closure was made on social media, with the business’s final day scheduled for February 1. The decision comes as the owners of the building have decided to sell the property, bringing an unexpected end to this chapter in Goldspot’s history.
Reflecting on the memories made at Goldspot, the announcement expressed gratitude for the special beers, collaborations, events, and the supportive community that made it all possible. The brewery has also been a staunch supporter of various charities and a hub for connection and joy.
While the physical location may be closing, Goldspot Brewing Co. will continue through distribution and hosting events across Colorado. Owner Kelissa Hieber has plans for the future, although details were not immediately disclosed.
Goldspot Brewing Co. first opened its doors in 2015 in Denver’s Regis neighborhood, with a mission to bring properly made beer to the Mile High City. Hieber, who started as a bartender at the brewery and worked her way up to become the brewer, eventually became part owner in 2018 and sole proprietor in 2021.
As a female owner in a male-dominated industry, Hieber has been a trailblazer, creating a safe space for women and the LGBTQ+ community at Goldspot. She has also been instrumental in promoting diversity in craft beer through initiatives like the brewing commissary, the Cheetah Coalition.
As Goldspot Brewing Co. transitions, Hieber will be making appearances at local establishments to continue serving up their signature beers. The announcement encourages patrons to join in celebrating the brewery’s legacy and looking forward to what the future holds.
