Designer Lisa McKinnon recently took to Instagram to express her frustration with FedEx after custom costumes she created for ice dancer Christina Carreira went missing just before the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy. McKinnon called out the delivery services company in a public statement, tagging their official page and pleading for answers.

The one-of-a-kind costumes, made for Carreira’s rhythm dance and free dance performances, were shipped out on January 24 with an expected arrival date of January 26. However, as the days passed and the costumes failed to arrive, McKinnon grew increasingly concerned. With Carreira and her partner Anthony Ponomarenko on their way to the Olympics without the essential costumes, time was running out.

Despite daily calls to FedEx and promises of imminent delivery, there was no movement on the package. McKinnon reached out to her followers for help, seeking any direct connections to FedEx employees at the main facility in Memphis. Fortunately, the company’s social media team responded promptly, assuring McKinnon that they were looking into the situation.

Carreira also joined in the plea for assistance, tagging FedEx in her own post and expressing frustration with the lack of helpfulness from the company’s staff. The ice dancer shared a sketch of one of the missing costumes, a stunning black design with a red wine-colored collar and bodice.

In an update on January 30, McKinnon acknowledged the weather issues in Memphis but emphasized that the main issue was the lack of information on the package’s whereabouts. Thankfully, Carreira’s costumes were eventually located and are on their way for delivery, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the skating community and connections within US Figure Skating.

McKinnon expressed her gratitude for the support and assistance in resolving the situation, highlighting the importance of the skating community coming together in times of need. Carreira will now be able to hit the ice in style, thanks to the perseverance and dedication of those involved in finding the missing costumes. In today’s fast-paced world, it can be challenging to keep up with the latest trends and technologies. However, one area that is constantly evolving and improving is the field of artificial intelligence (AI). AI has the potential to revolutionize many industries, from healthcare to finance to transportation. In this article, we will explore some of the latest advancements in AI and how they are shaping the future.

One of the most exciting developments in AI is the use of deep learning algorithms. Deep learning is a subset of machine learning that uses artificial neural networks to mimic the way the human brain processes information. These algorithms can analyze vast amounts of data and learn patterns and trends that would be impossible for humans to detect. This has led to breakthroughs in areas such as natural language processing, image recognition, and autonomous driving.

Another key area of advancement in AI is the use of reinforcement learning. Reinforcement learning is a type of machine learning where an algorithm learns to make decisions by receiving feedback from its environment. This feedback helps the algorithm to improve its performance over time. Reinforcement learning has been used to create AI systems that can play complex games like Go and chess at a superhuman level, as well as optimize processes in industries such as manufacturing and logistics.

In addition to deep learning and reinforcement learning, researchers are also exploring new ways to make AI more transparent and interpretable. One challenge with AI systems is that they can sometimes make decisions that are difficult to explain or understand. This has led to concerns about bias and fairness in AI algorithms. To address this issue, researchers are developing techniques to make AI systems more transparent, so that users can understand how they arrive at their decisions and trust their results.

One exciting application of AI that is gaining traction is in healthcare. AI has the potential to revolutionize the way we diagnose and treat diseases, by analyzing medical imaging data, predicting patient outcomes, and personalizing treatment plans. For example, researchers have developed AI systems that can detect early signs of diseases like cancer and Alzheimer’s disease from medical images with high accuracy. These systems can help doctors make more informed decisions and improve patient outcomes.

Overall, the field of artificial intelligence is advancing rapidly, with new breakthroughs and applications emerging every day. From deep learning algorithms to reinforcement learning techniques to transparent AI systems, researchers are pushing the boundaries of what is possible with AI. As these technologies continue to evolve, they have the potential to transform industries, improve our quality of life, and shape the future in ways we have never imagined.
