Costume designer Molly Rogers, known for her work on “The Devil Wears Prada 2” and HBO Max’s “Sex and the City” reboot, is set to receive the Excellence in Costume Design Award at SeriesFest. The award ceremony will take place on March 7 during the 12th annual SeriesFest event, presented in collaboration with Matthew Morris Salon in honor of their 20th Anniversary.

Rogers expressed her gratitude for the recognition, stating, “It is an honor to be recognized by SeriesFest. When we started on ‘Sex and the City’ in 1998, we couldn’t anticipate how the audience would react to the costume design. It’s been such a joy to see the fandom for these characters and their fashion over the years.”

Having started her career in the costume department for “Sex and the City” under the guidance of renowned stylist Patricia Field, Rogers continued to work on the franchise’s subsequent films. For the reboot, she collaborated with Danny Santiago to bring back iconic fashion brands like Dior and Chanel to Carrie Bradshaw’s wardrobe, while also incorporating designs from emerging social media influencers and global designers.

Randi Kleiner, CEO and Co-Founder of SeriesFest, expressed excitement about honoring Rogers and her impactful contributions to costume design. Kleiner stated, “Rogers’ inspired and ground-breaking work has helped shape mainstream fashion for decades, and continues to captivate new generations of fans through her storytelling via costume.”

SeriesFest is scheduled to take place from May 6 to May 10 in Denver, Colorado. The non-profit organization will feature a diverse range of programs, including competitions for scripted, unscripted, and late-night pilots, exclusive screenings, series premieres, innovation talks, panels, workshops, and parties. More details about the event’s programming will be announced in the coming weeks.
