Dexcom tweaks full-year outlook after reporting 13% growth in Q2

Dexcom, a leading continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) specialist, has recently reported its Q2 revenue of approximately $1.3bn, showing a 13% increase year-over-year (YoY). Following this positive financial performance, the company has slightly raised its revenue outlook for 2026 at the low-end. Dexcom now expects its 2026 revenue to fall within the range of $5.18bn to $5.25bn, reflecting a growth margin of 11%-13%, up from the previous range of $5.16bn to $5.25bn.

The market responded positively to Dexcom’s Q2 results, with the company’s shares on the Nasdaq exchange rising by over 8% to $81.04 at market open on July 31st, up from $74.54 previously. Dexcom currently boasts a market capitalization of around $29bn.

In addition to its financial achievements, Dexcom has also made significant strides in product development and regulatory approvals. In June, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared Dexcom’s Stelo glucose biosensor system for children, making it the first over-the-counter (OTC) continuous glucose monitor (CGM) for pediatric prediabetic and diabetic patients to receive clearance from the agency.

Moreover, Dexcom presented data highlighting the benefits of its G7 CGM in type 2 diabetes (TD2) patients who are not receiving insulin at the 2026 American Diabetes Association’s (ADA) Scientific Sessions in June. The CONNECT randomized controlled trial, involving 265 evaluable patients, demonstrated that patients using the G7 experienced an average A1C reduction of 1.6% at 26 weeks, with a 0.9% greater reduction compared to the self-monitoring control group.

Dexcom’s recent performance follows its investor day in May, where the company outlined its long-term financial outlook. Dexcom aims to achieve organic top-line growth exceeding 10% each year through 2030. The company also disclosed its longer-term financial goals, including a non-GAAP gross profit margin between 67% and 69% in 2030, and a non-GAAP operating profit margin between 29% and 30%.

Jake Leach, President and CEO of Dexcom, expressed confidence in the company’s future prospects, stating, “This quarter’s performance and the successful outcomes from our CONNECT trial reinforce our confidence in the path ahead and position us well to deliver on our long-range plan.”

In conclusion, Dexcom’s positive financial results, product advancements, and strategic outlook demonstrate the company’s commitment to innovation and growth in the CGM market. This article was originally published by Medical Device Network, a GlobalData-owned brand.
