Donald Trump is reportedly fuming over a recent Supreme Court ruling that has curtailed his ability to impose tariffs unilaterally—an authority he appeared to wield with all the grace of a king. It’s essential to understand that tariffs function as taxes levied on businesses, which inevitably get passed down to consumers in the United States, creating a ripple effect that impacts everyday Americans.

Meanwhile, the current president seems blissfully unconcerned with the intricacies of policy or governance. The evidence suggests that his media diet is largely limited to Fox News, Newsmax, and Fox Business, with the occasional foray into the realms of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, CNN, Stephen Colbert, and Jimmy Kimmel—presumably for some ‘hate-watching’ entertainment.

Curiously, there is no indication that Trump has ever devoted even a fleeting moment of his presidency to watching C-SPAN—unless, of course, he dozed off while channel surfing mid-commercial break. This begs the question: how can someone so disconnected from the mechanisms of governance claim to understand the will of the people?

In this context, a recent clip surfaced featuring an individual adopting the persona of John Barron, which raises eyebrows. For those unacquainted, John Barron was a pseudonym Trump used to masquerade as a staffer, feeding statements to tabloids during his New York heyday. It was a well-known trick; everyone knew Barron was Trump, yet the former president often opted to let others attribute controversial statements to this fictional character.

The Supreme Court’s tariff ruling, combined with Trump’s notorious history of deception and the open lines of C-SPAN, set the stage for a prankster to have a bit of fun—perhaps a bit too much fun. This confluence of events illustrates the absurdity of political theater in contemporary America.

Stay tuned as we delve deeper into the voices behind these statements.
