Although Jonathan Anderson’s Dior collection won’t be available for months, it’s already inspiring fashion figures like Victoria Beckham.
While Beckham is steering clear of Anderson’s signature tricorne hats and whimsical footwear, she is embodying her tried-and-true style with classic Victoria Beckham suits. Earlier today, she faced the Paris drizzle in a chic dove gray ensemble—a voluminous, structured blazer paired with high-waisted trousers accentuated by a monogram belt, along with her characteristic platform shoes and bold sunglasses.

However, it was Beckham’s choice of handbag that reminded many of Anderson’s debut womenswear collection for Dior. She carried her Hermès Kelly by the top handle, with its hardware unfastened and the bag slightly open. On the Dior runway, Anderson showcased a bag designed with a single handle, giving it a slouchy appearance that laid its contents bare. One user on X humorously noted, “This is a pickpocket’s dream bag.” joked.
The concept of a chaotic bag isn’t entirely new. The spring 2024 season embraced a trend of disorganized, casual styles, with Miu Miu showcasing particularly vibrant takes. Emily Ratajkowski later flaunted a collection of half-tamed bags in the March 2024 issue of Vogue.
This disheveled approach may not appeal to everyone (after all, without a dedicated assistant shielding Beckham with an umbrella, her bag’s contents would likely get drenched). Yet, transitioning from Anderson’s runway to Beckham’s everyday styling, an open, casually discarded bag could signify a new level of luxury.
