This move marks a significant expansion of the popular “Miraculous” franchise and is set to premiere in 2027 on Disney Channel and Disney+.
The new series, created by Thomas Astruc, the mastermind behind “Miraculous – Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir,” will be the franchise’s first original spin-off. It promises to deliver a unique blend of high-stakes action, kung fu comedy, and heartfelt storytelling in a hand-drawn 2D format inspired by Japanese anime. Taking place in Tokyo, the series introduces fans to a diverse team of young superheroes.
“Miraculous Stellar Force” is set in an international school in Tokyo, where 12 students discover they are the guardians of the Stellar Matrix, an ancient cosmic weapon. Led by Miki, Mayotte, and Yu Lu, these heroes must navigate personal differences and complex friendships to confront formidable galactic villains like the revenge-driven Modeler and the enigmatic force known as The Supreme.
Fans will get a sneak peek of the new universe with the premiere of “Miraculous World: Tokyo Stellar Force” later this year. The one-hour special event will bridge Paris and Tokyo, featuring beloved characters Marinette and Kagami as they help unite a new generation of heroes in Tokyo.
CEO of Miraculous Corp. USA and Global Operations, Andy Yeatman, expressed excitement about the expansion of the “Miraculous” universe with “Stellar Force.” He highlighted the series’ focus on diversity, friendship, identity, teamwork, and epic cosmic adventures, making it a fresh and captivating addition to the franchise.
Chief Content Officer at Miraculous Corp, Heath Kenny, praised the series for its thrilling action, martial arts, character development, comedy, and breathtaking views of Tokyo. He emphasized the growth of the teens’ friendship and unity as they face challenges, showcasing the importance of bonds in true strength.
As the “Miraculous” brand celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, “Miraculous Stellar Force” marks a new chapter in its success story. The franchise continues to engage audiences globally through its award-winning content across various platforms including television, film, digital media, and merchandise.
