Disney is gearing up to bring back its highly anticipated FYC Fest to the DGA theatre on Sunset Blvd. at the end of this month. The festival will kick off with a series finale event for Hulu’s hit show “The Handmaid’s Tale” on May 28th, setting the stage for an exciting 11-day event filled with screenings and panels.
The festival will culminate on June 7th with an Emmy event for the FX series “Dying for Sex.” In between, Disney FYC Fest will host events for a variety of shows including ABC’s “Abbott Elementary,” Disney+’s “Andor,” Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building,” and FX’s “What We Do in the Shadows,” among others.
Representing various divisions of the Disney empire, the festival will feature content from 20th Television, ABC, Disney+, FX, Hulu, Lucasfilm Ltd., Marvel Television, National Geographic, Onyx Collective, and Walt Disney Studios.
Attendees can expect a range of interactive experiences at the festival, including photo opportunities inspired by popular shows like “The Handmaid’s Tale,” “Andor,” “Dying for Sex,” and “High Potential.” Guests can immerse themselves in the worlds of their favorite shows through activities like a “limo ride” like the characters in “Only Murders in the Building” or posing in Cassian’s ship with K-2SO from “Andor.”
Food and beverages at the festival will also be themed to match the shows, with “dirty sodas” from “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” and treats from a “Deli Boys”-inspired vending machine. Activations will include a DJ booth featuring artwork from “Beatles ’64” and “Music by John Williams,” as well as a Subsoccer game themed after “Welcome to Wrexham.”
Costumes and props from popular shows like “The Handmaid’s Tale,” “The Lion King at The Hollywood Bowl,” and “What We Do in the Shadows” will be on display for fans to enjoy. Additionally, talent expected to attend panels include an impressive lineup of actors, writers, and creators from the featured shows.
