A man who was in the midst of a divorce fatally stabbed his mother-in-law and injured his teenage brother-in-law before inflicting self-harm and igniting a fire in their Queens residence on Thursday, according to law enforcement and insider reports.

The 27-year-old suspect reportedly attacked his 50-year-old mother-in-law and her 17-year-old son repeatedly with a knife inside their home on Smart Street near 45th Avenue in Flushing shortly before 4 p.m., as stated by authorities and sources.

The suspect was also taken to the hospital and is currently in police custody, as per the sources. A dozen members of the FDNY and EMS responded to the scene, with the fire being extinguished by approximately 4:40 p.m., according to the department.

Fire marshals were dispatched to investigate the incident, the FDNY confirmed.
